A Tribute To Dita Von Teese

This video is a tribute to Dita Von Teese in the wake of the tacky video made by Marilyn Manson. I admire Ms Von Teese not only for her beauty, taste, and class. I admire her for the poise, grace, and strength she has shown towards the trials that have recently plagued her and the betrayal by the one who was supposed to love and take care of her. She has shown incredible class and resolve through what could have been a messy affair. It is for this I have made this slideshow to show support and remind everyone what a dumbass her ex is. In an exclusive interview for with another style icon, the designer/sexologist Betony Vernon, Dita explains she wants “to stay true to the history of American burlesque, as it was in the 30s and 40s,” but also wants burlesque to evolve “with certain different technology, and costumes, set scenery and even music.” She adds: “A lot of people are misunderstanding what it [burlesque] is about, trying to take away the striptease and the element of risqué and make it just a fashion style.” For this reason, it’s important to excite the interest on the past of this form of entertainment.

After stumbling upon The Burlesque Lounge, a majestic but ailing theater that is home to an inspired musical revue, Ali lands a job as a cocktail waitress from Tess (Cher), the club’s proprietor and headliner. Burlesque’s outrageous costumes and bold choreography enrapture the young ingenue, who vows to perform there one day. Soon enough, Ali builds a friendship with a featured dancer (Julianne Hough), finds an enemy in a troubled, jealous performer (Kristen Bell), and garners the affection of Jack (Cam Gigandet), a bartender and fellow musician. Her spectacular voice restores The Burlesque Lounge to its former glory, though not before a charismatic entrepreneur (Eric Dane) arrives with an enticing proposal… Burlesque featurette courtesy Screen Gems.
